Q: Where do your stones come from?
A: I hand-collect and source the majority of my stones from across Montana, including locations like the Yellowstone River and Butte. Most of my Montana Agate was collected by my mentors in the past 40 years. Some materials are traded with other trusted lapidaries or purchased from ethical miners across the U.S. My goal is to always get my stones directly from the miner and skip dealers. This keeps my connection to the material stronger.

Q: Do you cut everything yourself?
A: Yes! Every cabochon and stone you see has been cut and polished by me in my mentor’s studio. I’m a lifelong rockhound and lapidary artist, and I take pride in the craftsmanship of every piece. I do not sell cabs I do not cut (not to be too redundant). 

Q: Can I request a custom cab or stone shape?
A: Absolutely. I love custom work! Whether you need a specific size, shape, or material, just shoot me a message through Instagram [@SaldigsMT] or the contact form here. Lead time varies for completion. I do not take customs May through September during my mining season. 

Q: What is your return policy?
A: Because each piece is handmade and often one-of-a-kind, all sales are final. If something arrives damaged or you’re unhappy, please reach out within 7 days of delivery and I’ll do my best to make it right. 

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: If you want to pay for shipping, I will ship it to you! 

Q: My tracking says “delivered” but I don’t have my package. What do I do?
A: Once USPS has the package, I no longer have control over it. I wish I could hand-deliver each order, but delays, mis-scans, or deliveries to neighbors occasionally happen.If your tracking shows “delivered” but it’s not in your mailbox, I recommend:
  • Checking with neighbors or your local post office


  • Giving it 1–2 more days in case of a scanning error


  • Contacting USPS with your tracking number
That said, if something is truly lost in transit, please reach out — I’ll always do my best to help.

Q: How long does shipping take?
A: I pride myself on next day shipping. If you purchase something off my website and I am away at mining camp, it will ship immediately upon myself getting home. 

Q: Do your stones come stabilized or treated?
A: Damn near all of my stones are natural and untreated. If a stone is stabilized (like some turquoise), I always note that in the description.

Q: Do you sell rough or slabs?
A: At this point in time I do not sell rough or slabs. I do not see myself doing this in the immediate future. If you want something for a specific project- reach out. I’m not a meany-pants or gate keeping. :) I do reserve the right to say hell no though :))
